Kames Capital has today announced some changes to its fixed income team following four departures from the business. These departures affect Kames High Yield Bond Fund, which is a constituent of our Foundation Fundlist of preferred investments across the major sectors.

Co-managers of the fund, David Ennett and Stephen Baines, have left the firm alongside Stephen Snowden, Kames’ co-head of fixed income. Adrian Hull, previously the co-head of fixed income with Stephen Snowden, will now take sole responsibility for Kames’ fixed income team. Jack Holmes and Mark Benbow, also existing members of the team, will now co-manage the Kames High Yield Bond Fund.

The changes will have no impact on the funds’ investment process or strategy as Kames employs a team-based approach to all of its funds. They have a long standing investment process and still have significant resource directed to their fixed income products. However, this is a significant loss of key personnel from the team, which could alter our overall view of the fund.

We are therefore presently re-evaluating the fund, and as a precautionary measure are removing it from the Foundation Fundlist at least until such a time that we have fully assessed the impact of the changes.
