The world of investing can often seem intimidating, riddled with confusing jargon and simply too complicated to get involved in. A simple requirement to build a nest egg can quickly become a maze for the uninitiated.  More cautious people can also be wary that the stock market (investing in company shares) involves casino-like levels of risk and conclude it isn’t for them.

We want to share investing basics. Stripping it back to explain the basic terms and lingo that you may have already come across but seemed too complicated and turned you off.

Over the coming months, we’ll be developing a number of resources, to help educate novice investors about the options available to them, in order to build wealth in the future.

We are pleased to announce our collection of new resources for those new to investing:

Those new to investing should first get to grips with the basics and be comfortable with taking their chosen level of risk but armed with a bit of knowledge most people are ready to take the first steps. The good news is that it has never been easier to start investing.

With an online investment platform like Charles Stanley Direct – an account where you can hold your choice of shares, funds and other investments – you can get up and running in minutes. It’s possible to open an account all from the comfort of your laptop or smartphone, and you can easily keep tabs on how things are going online or through an app.

You can also start small until you grow in confidence, for instance by investing modest sums of money regularly to start with. Whichever path you take we have an award-winning Helpdesk to assist you with any enquiry along the way.
